Bought current house w/pool about 3 years ago. House was built in 1993, believe pool was build around the same time... now some background:
Previously owned a headache of a house and pool that had been constructed in the late 60's-early 70's, decided then that "seriously this time, I'll never own another pool after everything this one put me through!!"
Had yet another pool growing up, it was "won in a poker match" (not really, it was actually won from the local radio station but that doesn't have the same ring to it!) I was responsible for cleaning it and always swore to myself "when I owned my own house I would never own a pool!"
I'm currently an Electrical Contractor by trade, after having been in IT/Infosec for close to 20 years prior. So while I would have no issue following through with automation, and probably should... I currently have a close friend who owns a local pool service/maintenance business take care of it while I try to pretend I didn't really end up owning another pool. Ahem, someday I'll learn....
