So I recently installed a Pentair 400kBTU heater on an existing pool I had installed roughly two years ago.
During the build we decided to go with just a pool , no spa or heater. Fast forward we wanted to get more use out of it so decided to have this heater installed but what’s not making sense is the length of time it’s taking to heat up.
Pool is roughly 16,300Gallons, in the shape of a rectangle with a small tanning ledge on one side. I realize I’m trying to heat the entire pool but even then it’s going on 2 1/2 days and it’s maintain 78-80 degrees. The SP is plugged into the Pentair Easy touch panel at 104 but awhile ago after looking around I noticed the heater was off for atleast the 30 mins I was outside. So I looked at the local panel on the heater and the SP was 79, which leads me to my question.
I was told to adjust the temp on the panel, which is what I was doing but if I’m calling for a significant increase (104) and the heater isn’t on is that strange? I also increased the temp on the heater panel temporarily and it kicked right on. So could something be setup wrong and it’s only wanting to maintain the temp on the actual heater and not through the panel like I was original told?
