New Hayward 2speed Issue

I just installed a new lateral, sand and new pump. Upgraded from Hayward 2speed 1HP to a 1.5HP. When I run it, the start up is noisy, but then is okay while on high. And when I run it on low, it is loud. Any insight? I would think if bearings that it would be loud on high and low?

Sounds like something is rubbing inside. I would consider a warranty claim on it.

This morning I went to backwash/rinse to remove any further sand sediment form the new install, and when i went to restart, it hummed like it was seized. Took me several times and power on/off to get it back. it is now working again on high, but low is still noisy as in above video.

Is it a new pump or a new motor?

Seems like a defective pump or motor.

I would suggest a warranty claim.
