NEW Gunite IG pool - West Texas

Thank ya'll. I spent a few hrs working some more. I've completed #1 planter. (with the exception of the glass...which is out of stock locally so off to the interwebs!!)

I laid the lights in planter #2, I have to bury the supply line for that...which will suck, as it's ~30ft long...and I'm not built for digging. I used 17 bags of marble in planter 1, I imagine planter 2 will require 20+ as it's a little larger. I'm not a fan of moving all that rock, so this will likely take all week.

I'll post up more pics after I get some more done. Pool builder came out and redid the grout on my spillway. It looked like "arse" according to the lovely wife (I can't disagree...it did). It's better now....but it took a few runs of the robot to get all that **** out of the pool.

Once my lighting is all complete, I'll hire someone to throw sod and pavers.

We ordered a "cute" table and chairs, UPS decided that one of the chairs should goto New Jersey once it made it to Dallas, while the other 2 boxes came to Odessa....so Once I get the second chair I'll post pics of that. The Estrogen based creatures will find them cute, the testosterone based will as well...but we hide it, because we want to remain masculine.

I have to thank everyone on this forum. TFPC is staying true to it's name. I'm thrilled with how simple this all is, and I really appreciate this forum. I left town for 2 days, and raised the FC up to a safe level where I expected the FC not to drop below "min." It worked. lol. My mom dog sat, but she didn't have to worry about the pool...which is excellent. Seriously lovely stuff.

okay, I lied...a sneak peak...

Thank ya. I really like that one as well.

I have taken a few with the real camera. But for now. Here's the best I can Get out of an iPhone.

Wow, quite the process and length of time. Has me a bit concerned being that our pool will be dug within a couple weeks and hope it doesn't mature as long.

I really like the colors and design of your pool, nicely done!

The long time span is due to my location...and poor planning on the part of my pool builder. He claims he's back to the typical (for our area) of 6wks.

Everything is looking so good! Just curious how you are liking the robot. I already have robot envy and my pool has only been done for about 6 weeks! :)

I can't praise that silly robot enough. It does a fantastic job. Here's a story about how great it is.

My builder redid the grout on the spillway (it was sloppy, and my wife is rather vocal about things like this). So there were large amounts of grout in the pool when I got back to the house. I dropped the robot in with the fine filters, this was a poor move. I should have used the mesh filters first. Anyway, it picked up a bunch of crud, I washed the filters, then placed the mesh filters in, and it grabbed all the large chunks. I then got the fine filters out and ran it one last time. Yeah it took a lot of time, but I didn't have to waste any water, and I didn't have to be out there while it worked. Side bonus the rest of the pool was exceptionally clean as well.

That's fantastic! My Kreepy Krawly works fine with the exception of the "tail". It gets stuck in the underwater rocks all the time. Within a week the foamy thing on the end had come off from catching on the rocks. I really want a robot but not sure I can talk the old man into the expense just yet. Maybe next season?? I wonder if the robot would work in my spa and on the beach. I am already beginning my research into these matters. :) Thanks for your input!

I have put mine in my spa. It works somewhat. Mine has some tight corners which provide troublesome. But mine will crawl itself into my baha deck in the deep end. Also makes it ontop of step number 2.

I'm as tight as anyone, I have to say this purchase was worth it. I like that I can run it without running the pump. My pump is single speed. So anytime I can save run time I'm all over it.

Strong possibility I will change my motor out to a 2sp or maybe a VS. I have to save pennies first. This project has wiped me out.

I hear you! Us too. We have a VS pump and a booster pump for the cleaner(which is a lot louder). I'm one of those weirdos that runs the filter pump 24 hours a day though. :p
Good to hear about the robot cleaning the spa. I manually vacuum it now and that sucks. I have some weird rounded angles in mine and the rectangular vacuum head doesn't fit well. I will be looking for my first opportunity to sweet talk the honey into an upgrade. Ha. Thanks for the info!
