New Filter on Order

new Hayward S220T ordered and should be here Wed/Thurs.

My current Hayward S220T is finishing up its 6th season and unfortunately developed pinhole leaks along the seam.

Here is a picture of my setup.

Its usually a fight to get the saltcell seated without leaks due to settling in the pipes amd not lining up right.

Any thoughts on a better way to plumb this?

PS not thrilled that I had to do a pump motor at the start of the season (5 seasons) and filter at the end of its 6th season... things aren't made like they used to be...

I’d probably put a union in the vertical section so you have a free end to align the cell.
