Our brand new sand filter(came with the 12x24x52 xtr) seems to be having a hard time keeping up with the obnoxious amount of tree pollen. For example I run the filter for about 4 hours and then it looses suction power and needs to be backwashed. Is this normal in high pollen areas or are we doing something wrong?

It sounds normal, depending on your filter setup, you can either put a net over your skimmer/filter intake basket or we love the pool devil!
If you were open to it, you could also consider installing a skimmer (either the hang-on-wall or a "proper" through-wall)

We have the hang on the wall skimmer, but the pollen is too fine I think. I will look into the pool devil. Thanks!
Is there a way to add a net or something to catch the pollen there, before the sand filter?
I just ordered filter socks...we are new to this, so I didn’t know they existed. We are in a drought, so I would like to avoid backwashing daily...hopefully the filter socks help!
