I just purchased a new Dolphin Triton PS Plus that was advertised to be used for pools up to 50'. Thats exactly what mine is that was just built last fall. The builder did install a proper GFCI outlet 16 feet from the pool. The power cord that comes the pool is 5 feet long, and the instructions state do not have the power supply unit closer than 12'. The Dang blue cord on the vacuum is not long enough to reach the other side of the pool?? And it states under any circumstances whatsoever is another extension cord to be used, which I understand and am safety minded. Can't understand how I have an proper outlet 16' feet away and can't get the job done. Im guessing that other must use extension cords. Of course Maytronics is closed on Saturdays when I need them.

Can you get a new power cord all together for the Dolphin Triton PS Plussine since the current cord is not long enough to reach the other side of the pool? If another exentsion cord can't be used, I'm wondering if a longer power cord "specifically designed for the Dolphin Triton PS" can be used.

The rule about not using an extension cord is to keep the stupid from doing stupid things.. The whole idea is that with a short power cord, it would be impossible for someone in the pool to pull on the robot's power cord and drag the power supply, which is connected to 120 volts, into the pool.

For those that are a little smarter than stupid, you can use an extension cord, but you must make absolutely sure that the power supply cannot physically be pulled into the pool while still being plugged in to 120 Volts.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Yup.... I guess it's a safety concern with extension cords. The risk factors are high here. If you're not careful, you could be in a big pile of trouble for sure.
