Any reason you had a top value on the filter rather then side?
Is there enough space to easily do a deep clean of the filter?

Top valve sand filters are very common, and yes you can do the deep clean if by that you are talking about the method where you remove the valve and run clean water from a garden hose down in the sand.

I have not done it yet, but will soon.
