New build - Stinking Lincoln style - Pool has started being filled - 4/6/21

Wow! What a mess in the pool. We were blessed to not have anyone throw their junk in ours.
It was such a great day when our yard was finally leveled out. One step closer to being put back together.

Yeah it started off good until a few weeks ago. I'd rather it get thrown in there instead of the open land behind me where the cows roam. I know it's going to get cleaned up soon so I'm ok with it but it is starting to look like a junk yard in there. LOL

The panel ledge went in yesterday, two days early. They messed up in a few spots so I'll be letting the project manager know so they can come back to fix it. But it does look nice.

My equipment is getting installed on Monday so I'm finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I'm going to do salt water so it's my understanding that I can't start using salt right away and have to use chlorine for the first 30 days? I'm about to order the TF-100 but is there anything else I need to order because I'm going to have the SWG?

Yeah you could cobble it all together with a TF100, and at the K1766 and the speed stirrer. That is what I did when I purchased mine, but this one comes with all that and a nicer case. You should seriously consider the stirrer, it really makes the testing easier, you don't have to do the hula trying to mix the samples in your vials, and its a lot more consistent. Its like what I used when I worked in a wet lab, but these are battery powered so you can use them pool side. Also, You might want to consider becoming a supporter and you will get a discount toward stuff from TFTestkits. Its a win-win.. you get a tax write off, you get a discount, you get a nifty badge next to your name, and at $100 you get a mug, .... geeze I sound like the guys on the public TV-athon.

We are also going with SWCG, we already have the TF100. If we buy the TF pro salt, when test strips or solutions run out, can they be replaced individually. Also how long do you think the kit will last, keep in mind I'm a new install and a newbie.

Beautiful build Melonhead!

@colleenbevans ... the reagents in the kit should last for two years (according to the expiration). You may get longer out of them depending on how you store them, etc. When did you last buy your TF100?..If it was 2 years ago or more you may need a new set of the base reagents. You can replace reagents individually or with a replacement kit that is available on sale from TFTest kits until the end of the month I think. And if you are going with a SWG, the TF Salt Pro would be a good way to replace your reagents, AND get the K1766 reagents as well, and get a cool case, and get a stirrer if you don't already have one..

Testing without a Smart Stir or previous Speedstir is like living in Bedrock with the Flinstones technologically speaking. Good heads up on the TF-Pro.

I compared the two and see what your are saying. Thanks for the recommendation!

Should I get the pH meter for an extra $15? Do I need it? Or is there anything else I need or should purchase?

I don’t recommend the pH meter. Testing pH is very easy with the standard phenol red test and color comparator block. The meters also need frequent recalibration.

We bought the TF100 3 weeks ago before we decided on SWCG. We figured we would need it during the 30 day period when we cant use the SWCG.
