New Build in Rockwall TX

You’re absolutely right, with no water and the deck area excavated out it looks much taller/larger than it is. Once the patio is done it will be about 4-4 1/2 feet tall

Still trying to figure out the landscape lighting. We haven’t completely decided on the plants so it will be a little later down the road.

Just be sure to give yourself plenty of sleeves to get the lights to where you thought you would never need lights..

Nice to see you are on top of things.. :thumleft:
Be sure you have that waterfall light on a separate switch from any other light, so it can be turned off when the waterfall is not on. If the falls are not on that will shine in your eyes and you will also see it in the water as just a spot of light if the water is still.

What I did was buy an Intermatic 300w landscape transformer, and had it on hand when the electricians were installing the pool stuff. I kindly asked if they would install my landscape transformer right next to the pool transformer, while they were working. They had no problems doing it, and they even wired it up, connected it to AUX2 on my EasyTouch, and ran some extra conduit out into the trench for me. I threw the guy a $20 bill as a thank you ...

I also bought some 1.25" PVC and had the decking guys lay it into the forms, so I could get wires anywhere I needed them. So now that we are pretty much done, I'm trying out lighting in different locations, and it's really easy since all the conduit is in the right paces to pull wire anywhere I want.

Great idea, I’ve never really messed with landscape lighting but now would definitely be the time to get the runs out passes the pool. The plumbing has already been filled but the sprinkler guy has to come run new lines after the decking is done so I’m sure I could throw an extra pipe in his trench.
Here’s where we sit today. Little left on the grotto and coping to be finished tomorrow. I didn’t realize the plumber made it back to set the equipment. Quick question, shouldn’t the swg be taken off at this point? Pretty sure I remember someone talking about using a blank pipe until everything is ready to go.B582386A-008B-4E05-A90C-B302A5CBB301.jpeg073FEDD7-F07D-4DFF-80A5-A729AFD2F9B1.jpegBED8C309-6203-4703-A10F-F9AA9D3E91B9.jpegB67AC418-BEA9-49B0-9C5F-F115865C679A.jpeg

That all looks great! I ended up buying a Pentair IC Dummy Cell, and had the plumbers put that in, instead of the IC40 cell. So my cell is wired up, but sitting in it's box on the pad, next to the dummy cell; which is installed in the plumbing.

You can actually see the IC40 box, in the pic I posted above. The dummy cell is kind of hidden by the piping though.

Here's a closer look at the dummy cell. It was $50 from Amazon

Amazon shows a long lead time for it, but I ordered it on July 12th, and it was delivered on July 16th.

So lots of changes since my last post. After they built the grotto the wife and I decided we completely hated the color, too much red! After lots of back and forth with the builder we decided to go ahead and tear it down and rebuild with a different color stone that blends better with the decking. Several $$’s later we have something we like and matches better. We also had electric finished (he stepped through the ceiling), tile, and decking. Decking crew is coming back tomorrow to adjust a few and put in the poly metric sand. Then plaster on Monday! 1A5F47AD-1081-4DA4-8620-B7E4D7EDE01D.jpeg7295D2E0-BAAC-469F-93E8-FD6C87A569E0.jpegF32F4A9B-A7DB-4E8B-804D-BD991998702A.jpegB67A1B1A-2105-4930-9CFD-3D4B2AEA81AA.jpeg3F58DF07-EAA4-4515-B281-7CF92556CC6A.jpeg3B404E95-9519-40E1-9779-5D3316B6C0BF.jpeg01217D3E-5218-4DA8-9CE2-88830A42CAE7.jpegE8675A5B-DE90-4D28-A093-2290ACA16F17.jpeg
