If it helps any, I pulled a 17 year old semi inground and the 10 - 24 in hole was perfectly intact a year later. We got 4 ft of rain, a blizzard and many freeze thaw cycles in that time. Even with a honking excavator driving over it now, it's still mostly intact. My husband wins. We are countersinking 18 inches. Install
wow, I had a lot of reading to catch up, been busy with the yard/pool. It must be a short person thing, LOL. I could never look at the wall of death out my window, I can see the pool water and it's very nice, once I have my deck off the house it only 2 steps in. Building a bar on the far side for people to sit at...Thanks everyone for your input. My husband wins. We are countersinking 18 inches. Install is scheduled for Tuesday. Hope the weather holds out!
Dang. I’m sorry you are going through all that. Yes, we pulled permits. We did buy from TGE. We had an intex inflatable top ring pool and then the frame pool for years. We decided to make the upgrade and it’s been a stressful event. I stress over big decisions.wow, I had a lot of reading to catch up, been busy with the yard/pool. I see your profile says we live in the same State, I'm in the burbs, Dupage county, right outside of the city.
Where did you buy your pool from TGE? EACH DUMP truck was $400 I had 5 to 7 of them, They had to use smaller Bobcat because of how close my neighbors are (not wide enough between houses) so I had to pay extra, 26 yards of dirt is a Darn ton and so I paid to have it hauled away. The pile they left to backfill is huge! We had that huge rain and it filled my pool walls in and had to rush out to buy a pump, total nightmare, now I think I have a leak, one spot but the return/stainless area won't stop making puddles, pool guys are coming tomorrow to back fill or replace the liner and dump all my water and start again, I don't know what to do.
Are you guys pulling a permit? Safty 1st! I had no idea how much went into a pool, don't leave that dirt in your yard, no one wants it or you will use it to go skiing this winter , lol.
I hope it's not a leak and I'm just crazy and it has to do with the dig out. AJ's will install your pool and they have a wicked amazing crew, it will be done in ONE day. We went with the oval Quantum what did you decide on, they are doing the install, right?Dang. I’m sorry you are going through all that. Yes, we pulled permits. We did buy from TGE. Knowing now what I didn’t know then, I would have stuck with my frame pool. Less stress.
Gosh, I sure hope it’s a simple fix for you. We went with the 18 ft round Athena. And yep, A&J are installing.I hope it's not a leak and I'm just crazy and it has to do with the dig out.
