New 2HP Black and Decker VS pump rattle, is this normal?

Hello,
I just finished installing a 2hp VS pump and after an hour of running it developed a rattle, I then removed the impaler and cleaned it but that didn't fix the problem. When I rotate the fan in the back of the pump, with impaler taken off, the motor makes a click / clunk once every rotation. Is this normal and should I pursue replacement?

Make a warranty claim. Pump/motor should be virtually silent.

The pump was replaced and the new one has no issues.

The same with me. So far no rattle. The response of poolpartstogo was tremendous. I got a new pump 3 days after reporting the problem.
