New 2 Speed Pump Question

I replaced by pentair opti flow single speed 1 HP pump with a 2 speed pump. I used to be at 15 PSI. However now my PSI on high is 10 and my PSI on low is like 3-4. I feel sufficient water coming out of the returns, just wanted to make sure that seemed about right to people.

Also on low there is some air in the pump basket and on high there is less air but still a little. I'll try and tight everything later but wanted to know if a little air is fine and maybe that's why the PSI is lower?

When on low, it's not uncommon to see a bit of air in the pot. I typically purge mine once a day on high as well. Your filter gauge will also barely move when on low but show more of a reading (resistance) when on high.

Seems like it is for now. It's always a bit odd when you change a pump because some things react a bit different and we naturally get concerned. But if the pot is primed and full, and the filter gauge is responding to water flow on high speed, it sounds like all is well. If you see anything odd later though, feel free to give us a shout.
