Need to replace 2 Hayward 14V lights ---

I was looking on Amazon at several 12V lighting replacements, but since I have 2, it makes it slightly trickier. But my question is can I just re-use my current Hayward transformer for the new lights that I'm going to purchase on Amazon? And in the transformer, it shows 14V for the 2 lights connecting in. If I get 12V light you think they would be ok?

I'd love to just pull the new wires and leave everything else so I don't have to mount those funky boxes that come with some of the newer lights. I light have been out for a couple of years and haven't replaced them because of the cost, but with the cheaper Amazon ones, thought it might be worth it!

Thanks a ton for any insight.

Yes.

Transformers have taps for 12V, 13V, and 14V. You want to deliver 12V to the light at the pool. Which voltage tap you use depends on the wires distance between the transformer and the light and the voltage loss in the wire.

Yes.

The 14V tap was probably delivering 12V to the ;ight in the pool.

What length pool light cord do you need?

Let us know which Amazon lights you get and how they last. Lots of folks are looking for inexpensive reliable lights.

People come here and tell us about the failures.

They rarely come to brag about their luck.
