So, we are finished the wiring to replace a hayward superpump with a pureline PL2626. the PL2626 comes with great unions to attach to our exist pipe, but the in-flow pipe has already been extended so we don't have enough room to add the union unless we cut the pipe before the old extension. Attached is a pic with a red line where we plan to cut. We are deciding between two options..
1. Cut and extend the PVC with another sleeve (like the original extension), but should we be concerned about running out of PVC next to the maindrain/return valve - if we need to make changes again in the future
2. Glue a union to the 1" of pipe left after we cut and then Glue the other side of the union to a new piece of PVC. So we would have a piece of PVC with a double ended union .. one side would attach to the maindrain/return valve pipe and the other would have the union for the pump.
Which should we go with? is #2 overkill? I originally thought #2 would be good planning, but thinking #1 is probably fine.
Thanks so much!
