Hi everyone,

I bought a house couple months ago that have a pool with Aqua Logic controller , and it has two pumps, the one for the Filter seems died on us today. I have no idea what the other pump is for.

I was already planning on replace the single speed pump with a VS pump because the single speed seems to be consuming a lot of energy and I wanted to save on that.

Any ways, it died today and I need to replace and I would like to replace is with VS pump but seems the Aqua Logic is too old firmware (2.32) and seems I need to update.

What VS pump do you recommend to replace the Super Pump II?
What Software Version do you have to share with me that can be installed on my main board and support VS Pumps.

Current pool equipment:
  • GOLDLINE AquaLogic with main board PN:066008G-1 REV:G
  • Pump 1
    • Hayward Super Pump II MOD: SP3020EEAZ
    • MOTOR ST1202 Mod: K48N2N106C1 2.0HP
  • Pump 2
    • Hayward Super Pump II MOD: SP3020EEAZ
    • MOTOR Mod: K48N2N104 2.0HP

Thanks

Hi, and welcome to TFP. Glad you found us.

@mas985, is this in your wheelhouse?
@ogdento, do you know anything about this firmware question?

If you start with the following article, and do as much as you can, then add some pictures of your equipment pad, we can help you identify what's what, and our experts can help you better, and faster. I've asked a couple to look into your questions.

While the pump is down, and if you use chlorine for sanitizing, keep chlorine in the water and circulate the water with a pool brush, oar, kayak paddle, kids splashing around, however you can.

Goldline introduced AquaLogic in 2003. Hayward acquired Goldline in August of 2004. Hayward discontinued AquaLogic in 2008 and replaced it with Hayward ProLogic.

I suggest you contact Hayward and see if they will talk to you or send you to a local Hayward dealer. I suspect that your old AquaLogic is not upgradeable without replacing the board with a Prologic board.

You need software version 2.65 or higher to support a VS pump. Unfortunately, it is not possible to upgrade the board firmware. You have to ether replace the board or go with another controller.

However, it is possible to run a VS pump in stand alone mode (i.e. not through the controller).
