Been trying to figure out the best settings on our intellichems for hot tubs (2500 gal). I work at a resort and have struggled this year to maintain a balanced chlorine level. When I test in the mornings the water features usually don’t have any chlorine in it so I bump it up by manually adding liquid chlorine or granular cL, I try to aim for 5 ppm or higher. 2 hours later I come back to test again and we’re back at a 0 ppm. We try not to rely on tablets to figure out the intellichem but I sometimes add to our erosion feeders to help maintain chlorine levels.
My question is what do people usually have their dose amount/ dose limit and mixing time at? I’ve reached out to pentair but didn’t really get a solid answer and what they said to do didn’t help at all. Also for safe measure, how high can my dose amount be while the spas are used frequently, we have a high bathing load. I have a feeling that my dose at the moment (16 oz) every 10 minutes (mixing time) is not enough but don’t want to go high enough to burn people with chlorine. What has worked with similar setups?
