Need help Turning this old POOL GAS HEATER

Hi, i have been trying to turn on this heater but i do not know how to operate it. i see wires. but im not sure if it needs a 24v power or what is it . any one knows ? please thanks

Wow, that looks old. Generally they need water flowing through them to activate a pressure switch which enables it to fire. make sure the water is running.

also looks like it’s timer controlled? Or those dials are temperature? I’d guess one is turn on temp and the other is shutoff temp.

Looks like an old millivolt (pilot light) heater which don't have any power wires going to it. You need a voltmeter and instructions how and where to measure the (milli)voltages. Sounds like you need to get a pool service guy in to see if he can get it working.
 
Hi yea i got it to turn on . I almost die in the process but im alive . I followed the instructions on the panel .
I just dont know how to set the temp on the

Ya that's way too old to even consider using.
Heaters generally last 10-15 years w proper care.

This one needs to be retired. It could be dangerous to use it in it's current state.
I certainly wouldn't.

i cant find when it was installed but it has been used all these years.
That's not a valid reason to think that it is safe or in good working order.

Most of the time when people get killed or injured by defective equipment, they thought that they could keep using it because it was still working.
