Might just be called vinyl tubing. You can buy it by the foot.

The hose that replaced was constantly crimping and giving us fits. We were constantly having to stand by the pool while the vacuum was running bec it would lose suction abt every 2-3 minutes. Since we replaced it with the hose shown, there have been no more kinking problems. The vacuum holds its suction. In fact it works better now than it ever has. Best investment ever.

The stock flex hoses can crinkle from the suction. I bet that's what was happening. The house you are using now has that reinforcement webbing in it.
