I had bought one a long time ago and misplaced it and finally found it today so I decided to install it.

Upon disassembly, though, I discovered I had the wrong one.

The one I bought is the Pentair 271104, but it is a 5-spoke gasket whereas the one I need is 4-spoke.

My sand filter is the Sta-Rite T-240BP-1 with, I believe, the 112-148 Multiport valve.

I was debating just cutting out the 5th spoke, but the new one appears slightly smaller so I didn't think it was a good idea.

I searched for awhile online, but couldn't find a part number for the gasket separately. I could only get the plug/gasket together (14965-0028). I found one diagram, but it doesn't show the spider gasket at all.

Any help appreciated.

Pentair only sells the plug and gasket assembly - part #12 - p/n 149650028

Thanks for the info, will go ahead and order it.

Also, can anyone explain to me why the tiny O-ring for the handle (35505-1228) costs $8 while the huge O-ring for the case (35505-127) costs $3?
