So here is my sub panel outside by my pool. My finger is on a 20 amp outlet that my pool pump gets plugged into. The pool pump turns on when I hit the manual switch on the timer. (Which is how I like doing it) I’m just wondering where I can hook up the salt generator. My pool pump pulls 16 amps max and there’s a 20 amp breaker going to the timer. So I’d figure I can’t put the salt generator on the timer to because it’d pull to much? I also can’t find out how many amps the salt generator is. The 60 amp breaker there is for my pool heater which I don’t use anymore.

Can I hook the 60 amp breaker up to my timer and then also connect the salt generator under the timer where the pool pump is connected under line 2 and 4?

What do you guys recommend here

THANKS!

Not so sure about that. We have other expert neutron brains here to confirm, but you might dig into that a bit more. The Manual doesn't really give those amp specs, but I'm sure they're out there. Or tomorrow call Discount Salt Pools and I'm sure they can confirm. To my recollection the cell/module pulls very little amperage, and I suspect the pump motor draws it highest amps at start-up. It sure would be ideal to have them (pump and module) power-on at the same time by the same source (breaker/switch).

Thanks so much for the response. Found out it only pulls around 1 amp IF that. So I’m going to hook it on to the timer. I’m so excited for a salt chlorinated pool this year. This is my first set up. Now the hard part I have to figure out how to conveniently pull this Merlin cover off and fold it lol
