Hello,

I’m replacing the light units in my inground pool and found the junction box hidden under the diving board. After unscrewing and opening it, I noticed there was no gasket between the cover and the metal base embedded in the deck. Instead, it was poorly sealed with silicone.

I want to order replacement parts that fit the junction box in the attached picture. However, I’m having trouble finding them. Where can I find and order these?
  • Junction Box#1, American Products Company Sim Pool Junction Box, Listed 388J, PAT.NO. D214-449
    • Dimension 5.5" x 3.75" x 2.33" (L, W, H)
  • Junction Box#2, No original cover found, random plastic cover sealed with silicons
    • Dimension 4.5" x 2.875" (Length and Width)
Thank you for your help!

Welcome to TFP

Those pool light junction boxes do not meet current National Electrical Codes. I would not be surprised if they are no longer manufactured and parts not available.

I think you will need to improvise things until you bring your pool up to code with new junction boxes.

The American box is now a Pentair, but it is non-code buried in that concrete. The other is just a standard outdoor electrical box that should also have never been buried. Before trying to get working lights, change those so no one is injured. There are no legal "deck boxes" any more. If you have a GFCI on the light (and you must) it will just continue to trip with that arrangement.
