So I need to update the equipment pad and use with automation that I can operate all the equipment from my iPhone, laptop, and or iPad.

I need help with model numbers, I would like to go with Pentair.
400 Btu gas heater, current one is on last leg, also 400 Btu
Variable speed pump VSF
Filter, current one is sand, and new in the past year. I have always had cartridge. If switch to cartridge the use 2 wy Jandy valve installed between pump and filter
SWCG with intellicenter automation with the load cent with the SWCG poser built in. It does not need Screen Logic, I can use phone etc.

There is one bubbler on sun shelf, can that be operated with automation?

I have been reading all the new build threads to learn more but still having confused with the model numbers that I want. Again, this is an update and a master electrician very familiar with wiring pool pads will be doing the install. Both the electrician and SIL are big on automation and security and the house is being updated so it does the job but is simple for me to use. TFP has made it simple for me to keep my current pool super clean for 12 years. I am sure my new to me pool will be as well.

  • IntelliCenter i8PS bundle with IC40 cell
  • Intelliflo 011056 VSF pumps
  • Mastertemp 400 gas heater
  • CCP 5XX cartridge filter
What else do you need?

Thanks Allen, I knew you would know. I have been taking notes for the past year or so for a new build, that is now cancelled as I bought house with preexisting pool which needs updating. There is no real security or wired in internets so updating of house and yard is in the works.

To answer the question, what else do I need.
For the IntelleCenter is this the Model # 521903?
the CCP filter those re the cartridges what filter Model so I need? I know the sand filter is new summer 2021 but I think the cartridge with my robot will keep the pool cleaner, I'm used to it, and I like the idea of 2 sets of filters and swapping them out to clean. I can't physically do the swapping, but I can clean, dry, and store.

I saw this on one of the threads "Intelliflo SVRS version XTF VSF which combine the variable speed and the variable flow model, phasing out old pumps to now VSF" what does all that mean?

I know from reading all the new build threads_
Installed with pump unions, not supplied with the pump and need to be added.
This pump will control my bubbler, can there be a valve, is that an actuator that I can program bubbler on/off and times.
There must a surge protector for the pump, do I need them for heater, SWG
IC 40 in vertical positon.
Minimum of 18” straight pipe before SWG.
I want a Heater bypass using a 3-way diverter and a check valve, not 2 val es.
If I switch to cartridge the use 2 wy Jandy valve installed between pump and filter so I can isolate filter from pump so to empty pump basket with out draining the filter back into the pool

For Robot connection in Pool Cabana this need a GFCI receptacle.recepacle to be controlled by aux relay on automation so I can hook the robot controller up to this outlet it is out of sun and elements and can be automated.

Unions in plumbing for access to anything that need to be remove for maintenance, salt cell, heater bypass, pumps, etc.
Use “sweep Ell’s on the 90’s, schedule 40, all fitting schedule 40.
Use 2/2.5” Jandy valves not 1.5/“
Use Jandy Never Lubes NO ball valves.
ALL IntelliValve Actuators
Plumb no 3 way valve any closer that about 8” part. Otherwise Intellivales will not fit on the valves properly.
GFCI on all equipment.
Want filter/sanitation manifold bypass
Want a Flo-Vis in combination with a check valve.
Use clear PVC cleaner and glue instead of purple stuff.
Space equipment so there is plenty of room to access filter and pumps for maintenance.
Would like heater fumes/discharge downstream of other equipment .

Dedicated ethernet cable or dedicated low-voltage Conduit from house to equipment pad and run it directly into on the the low-voltage knockouts in the load center instead of burying cat 6, more gopher proof and allows to pull ethernet b=cable etc. Electrician and SIL are looking into putting wired WAP for pool cabana and yard for security and cameras.

What is this?
new “High Power Wireless Link Kit” that replaces the EnGenius wifi Link kit, they began shipping a year ago, Jan. 2021. They have 2 transceivers, one connects to router and other to Intellicenter, give separate circuit for SWCG, to have control for IC 40.

Yes.

You don't want any p[ump with SVRS.

Yes, piut a 2 way diverter valve to turn the bubbler on and off. Put an actuator on the valve controlled by the IntelliCenter.

There must a surge protector for the pump, do I need them for heater,

Put a surge protector in the first (lowest) CB slot of the IntelliCenter - FirstSurge™ Pro (FS140)

SWG
IC 40 in vertical positon.

With upward water flow.

Minimum of 18” straight pipe before SWG.

5X pipe diameter.

I want a Heater bypass using a 3-way diverter and a check valve, not 2 val es.

ok

If you are going to control the robot scheduling through the power make sure you get a robot that will start running when power is applied. I think most need some button pushed to start it.

Unions in plumbing for access to anything that need to be remove for maintenance, salt cell, heater bypass, pumps, etc.

Heater and SWG comes with unions.

Use “sweep Ell’s on the 90’s, schedule 40, all fitting schedule 40.
Use 2/2.5” Jandy valves not 1.5/“
Use Jandy Never Lubes NO ball valves.

ok

ALL IntelliValve Actuators

You will get 2 IntelliValves in the IntelliCenter bundle.

Plumb no 3 way valve any closer that about 8” part. Otherwise Intellivales will not fit on the valves properly.

Leave space between stuff on the equipment pad in general.

GFCI on all equipment.

Pumps, gas heater, pool lights require GFCI. SWG will connect to pump power through filter/pump relay.

Want a Flo-Vis in combination with a check valve.
Use clear PVC cleaner and glue instead of purple stuff.
Space equipment so there is plenty of room to access filter and pumps for maintenance.
Would like heater fumes/discharge downstream of other equipment .

new “High Power Wireless Link Kit” that replaces the EnGenius wifi Link kit, they began shipping a year ago, Jan. 2021. They have 2 transceivers, one connects to router and other to Intellicenter, give separate circuit for SWCG, to have control for IC 40.

Improved wireless link from IntelliCenter to your home network.

Thanks for all the information. I have never selected equipment so I have a few more questions.

On the filter, Clean and Clear, I know bigger is better, better filtering goes longer between cleaning filters so how do I determine size? Sellers state 7000 gal, big pool surface but huge sun shelf. Both the pool inspector and the leak inspection diver thought the pool was bigger. So even if it is 14K what size do I pick. I don't have a height restriction, currently the sand filet seems huge in diameter so there would be room. There are trees and big evergreens just FYI.

I read what you said here, "If you are going to control the robot scheduling through the power make sure you get a robot that will start running when power is applied. I think most need some button pushed to start it." I have the Active 30 Robotic Pool Cleaner from Marina Pool and Spas. Will that work.

Want a Flo-Vis in combination with a check valve. What equipement(s) uses these? Do I need the Flo-vis? Not sure exactly what it does? I read lots of the pool builds and was planning to build from scratch so I have a huge list of items that I have learned about, many I understand but not this one, and this is an update. However the plumbing is going to be neatened up also.

Stil not sure about this. "

So this is connects the Intellicenter, if I get the new Intellicenter does it already have this? If I can should I have my electrician do a wired connection. I do plan on using my phone and or laptop, but the yard is quite large. He is going to put in WAP(new term for me to learn) to cover cabana, pool area, and yard, but it is a bit far from the equipment,

Thanks for all the guidance.

Pool size really does not determine filter size. The larger the filter the less often you need to clean it.

Get the largest filter that fits the equipment pad and your budget allows. A 400-500 sq ft cartridge filter is best. You will only need to clean it once or twice a year. It will be low maintenance.

Dunno. Do you have the robot in hand? Plug it in and see if it begins running without pressing a button.

Why do you want a Flo-vis if you don't even know what it does?

Nothing needs it. It is a gadget for those who like to tinker with their pool.

The IntelliCenter bundle comes with a wireless link.

You can connect the IntelliCenter to your network wired using a cat-5 cable or use the wireless link. Using a wireless link air gaps the IntelliCenter from your home network. The IntelliCenter box is outdoors and some folks have had lightning strikes around their house that blow out things in their house due to the wired connection. Depends if you want to isolate your outdoor equipment from your network.

It can't hurt to run a cat-5 cable to the IntelliCenter and only use it if you cannot get a reliable wireless connection.

OK so I do press a button or I can operate from my phone wirelessly when the internet works way out where I currently live. So I think since the plug is in the cabana I will have a Caseta put on that switch.

Why do you want a Flo-vis if you don't even know what it does?It was mentioned on several new TFP build threads. I don't know what half this stuff is, so I asked. But I am not going to fiddle so I won't get that.

He can check the wireless reliability and add the wired if necessary as he is adding in wired WAP and wired security cameras.

Thank you for taking the time to guide me. I have learned so much from this forum. I don't understand all of it but each time I learn a bit more. I do know one thing TFP has taught me how to best care for the water chemistry.

When I look up the C&C 520 it has the following model numbers, how do I know which one?

Also the Pentair Master Temp 400 Btu there are several models at that size, which one do I want. I currently have old 400Btu so I know it is sized correctly and able to handle it. What do I need?
there are 4 models to choose
460736
460805 HD
460775 ASME
461021 HD ASME
