I just found my suction side leak (see video) it’s 9:15pm here so I won’t be able to call to find a plumber till tomorrow and I’m not sure how long it’s going to be to get someone here. While I have done some above ground plumbing replacements repairs I am not comfortable at this point doing an underground like this. I need some advice for a temporary fix until the plumber gets here and does it properly.
I have JB Water weld I can set around it right now. Or is there something else you can recommend that I would be able to get tomorrow and do myself tomorrow?
Just realized video clips cannot be uploaded so here is a link to where it is uploaded I did attach a screenshot of the piece. Where the pipe goes into the elbow is loose
My sob story for those who are interested
I had a plumber come in on 7/30 and replumb pipes from my pool to my pump to my filter. they left knowing that there was now a suction side leak coming from my skimmers (pump strainer basket filled with bubbles huge amount of bubbles coming through the return jets) they kept insisting it was normal. I knew it was not. I had a few issues with my pump and it was time for a new one so in order to rule out any thing wrong on my end I went ahead and purchased new pump. Call them said he would come out didn’t show didn’t show called him again he hung up on me finally sent out one of his sons this past Saturday who told me once again it was normal.
I went through gaskets, lubes, unions fittings, valves etc and came up with nothing and then today I finally decided to dig and found the loose elbow. I have not had the pump running consistently for the past week and now the next three days are going to be approaching 90° so that’s why I’m looking for a temporary fix.
