I usually prefer OEM, but wasn’t expecting such a huge price difference. Frankly, for what they are, I don’t see why the OEM ones are so expensive. Most places are charging around $100 a set; almost a third of what I paid for the entire cleaner with hose! I also see a couple places selling the OEM rebuild kit for not much more than just the bearings. Crazy....😜

Just thinking out loud.....hmmm, I could replace the aftermarket bearings 7 times for the price of OEMs. It seems low risk to at least try the aftermarkets when it comes time.
 
Its been a few years..I think mine were Polaris parts I just bought wheel bearings vs the $150 kit..My belts never wore out or broke and the gears always looked good.
I did take the cover off the top and the cover off the power wheel and put it in the dishwasher for a non-heat cycle to clean it good. It had some grit and junk causing them to bind up some
Mini pressure washer! Oh, of coarse do it when your wife isn't home :)

Update:

Since my initial post, I’ve not found any loose ball bearings in the pool. Since the cleaner is operating without issue, I’ll just leave well enough alone.

At least now I have a good idea where they came from and can be on the lookout for more and related performance issues.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback. 😀
