Hi,

I've posted a number of threads which have separate issues being discussed.

But something keeps merging them into the same thread, defeating the whole point of having separate threads in different forum areas.

Asking about insulation is different to asking about jet pressure, which is also different to ozone / UV sanitation, but someone seems to think they are the same issue.

I am confused.

Surely asking these separate questions in their related relevant forum areas will get the attention of people knowledgeable about such issues.

But having one amalgamated thread will everything and the kitchen sink in it lacks the simplicity and clarity of each question, thus limiting the attention of people who could be in a position to help. As far as I can see.

Am I missing something here?

It's been a while since I last posed questions on this very useful forum, and back then I never had such amalgamation issues as I'm having here.

Has something changed in the last few years, new forum rules I've missed?

As I want to not only get the answers I seek, but also be a rule-abiding forum member, I feel there's something I don't know being acted upon here.

If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd be very grateful, and hopefully be able to interact with the forum correctly.

Thank you.
Regards - DT

Forum Etiquette

1. Please keep related topics in one post. That way, the entire storyline and related advice is located in one spot which makes it easy for other members to follow and offer further advice.

DT, good morning. To address your concerns, it really depends. :) There is some discretion applied by the Moderators. We do indeed try to keep posts combined if appropriate. Sometimes it is very obvious posts should be combined while in others it is clear they should remain separate. In a few cases there it could go either way. A thread or post can be reported by anyone for such recommendations. Your point however is well-taken. When posts are moved, you might receive a notice from a MOD who took such action. If you disagree with the move, feel free to PM that MOD to discuss. If you don't know who moved your post(s), you can also report it (bottom of each post) and we'll be happy to evaluate the issue. We do try to keep the forum "clean" and organized, but also want our members to be pleased with their experience. Thanks for using the forum.

+1 Daf. The mods, as well meaning as they may be, are also human. There is no telling some days if XYZ will *seem* worthy of a merge or not. They are overworked and trying their best.

What i suggest is keeping the title updated to get fresh eyes on it.

(Existing title for continuity) Need insulation and GFCI help.
