So my sand filter went out the end of season last year. I just bought a new sand filter waiting for the pool company to get here today to change it out so I just opened my pool two days ago. It’s still dirty at the bottom just a little bit,
My question is if I or can I turn my equipment on while I’m waiting for him and bypass my broken Sand filter and vacuum that to waste so I can get my pool balanced and everything and good to go by the time they get here? Or should I just not do anything?

"Went out?" What went wrong?
Yes to using "recirc" and vacuuming to waste.

Thank you So my old sand filter was a TritonC 1980 Pentair HUGE!! previous owners apparently had patched an area about a foot in length and about 4 inches tall at the bottom of this big sand filter and it started leaking out and going everywhere. So I had no choice but to replace it.
