I have a Jandy Never Lube Three Way Valve that is dripping water slowly (well, one drop every 3-4 seconds) out of the fitting on the side of the valve housing......the fitting where the grease is to be squirted in is definitely broke, it seems to be hanging at an odd angle....hanging on by a thread. I recall someone in the forum once before saying there is a particular size screw or bolt (diameter, screws per inch specs?) that can be placed in the valve housing to stop the leaking. Does anyone know what this will be? I'll assume a good stainless screw with Teflon tape might just solve my leak....I never used it for lube anyway and think the "Never-Lube: is not a great idea.

You have a standard "old style" Jandy valve with a "Never Lube" diverter kit installed. You have to be very careful if you use a screw to not enter the valve body itself or you will damage the diverter. The fitting is a 1/8" pipe thread fitting. A 1/8" threaded pipe plug will fit. It is best to get one in Nylon or other plastic if possible, the kit came with them but most installers left them out for some reason. I've had good success removing the remains of the grease fitting (small flat screw driver wedged into the part in the valve) and using PlastAid to seal the hole. The pipe plug would be less expensive and faster for a DIYer. I keep PlastAid on my truck and always lose those little plugs.

"1poolman1": Thanks for the reply: I took a look at PlastAid on line...not a big deal for the price considering the issue / problem and what it would cost to have it done by a hired third party pool tech..... Actually, I was thinking about using JB Weld as a DIY'er.......would that not be similar to PlastAid?

I prefer PlastAid because it welds to the plastic as opposed to just sticking. On that application an epoxy would probably work well as others have said. Just be sure to clear the hole then force a small amount of epoxy into it for a good mechanical bond.
