Muriatic acid as a fix for pebble tech stains?

We installed a new pool with a Pebble Tec shell finish. There were issues supposedly with a "bad batch" of material for the liner and the contractor had to re-do the Pebble Tec. Although it was supposedly fixed, we now see the final liner has discoloration or splotches in various areas such that some areas are bright white and others are more tan or dirty in appearance. The pool vendor is suggesting that a repair be carried out in which a high level of muriatic acid is placed in the water with the equipment running for a week. This supposedly would allow the curing process to be completed under the theory that the curing process was not completed properly in the first place. Does this make sense and is this a realistic fix? Thanks for any feedback.

Just try what vendor recommend to you. If that wont work just tell them fix it.

"High level of muriatic acid" sounds very unspecific. And "running the equipment for a week" at supposedly low pH sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

Maybe @onBalance can help here? Not sure if PebbleTec is in his area of expertise?

The acid will remove some of the " grout" in the pebble tec and, in theory, shorten the life of the finish.

I am a big believer in working with contractors........not against. That said I don't think I would accept that. Do you have financial leverage?
