Mottling after acid wash?

I was really happy with my pebble until husband noticed a few areas of rust within a few days. Pool builder said that some metals must have entered the mix when the plaster was mixed and agreed that it was unacceptable. He did an acid wash which seems to have dealt with the rust spots BUT has left the pool with large mottled streaks where they brushed I'm so bummed. I also think it killed some of the brightness that was nice and sparkly. Any advice anyone?

I'm guessing the acid mix was too strong and left the streaks. Kinda like using thick SPF50 sunscreen and missing a few streaks....... ouch in both cases!

Call him back and ask him if he thinks this is acceptable (given he didn't think the rust spots were acceptable).

Chip out and re do is what I would tell the PB. By acid washing they have reduced the life of the plaster by removing some of it.
