I thought I would post my current pool issue.
Ok, so my single speed 2hp 220V motor is beginning to show signs of needing to be replaced.
I have replaced it 2 times in the past 20 years with a 2 HP motor but this time I’m considering the following options to reduce my monthly electricity usage:
1. A smaller HP single speed (not even sure if this is an option)
2. A 2 speed motor (not sure if I would have to change impeller)
3. A variable speed motor (not sure if I would have to change impeller)

I have a very simple setup as far as pools go. Pentair inline chlorine tablet feeder, Pentair FNS60 DE filter. Main pump is a Challenger PAC-FAB2. PB4-60 booster pump for my Polaris 280, no water features, no heater, 2 skimmers, two floor drains, six eyeballs.
I don’t have a pool service and don’t know that I would trust any one individual to advise me.
Anyway, probably more information than needed.
Thanks in advance for any opinions on which option I should choose.
