Jim - under what scenario would one use the "Freeze" circuit under the "IntelliFlo (step 4 of 5)" configuration page?

In a pool/spa combo, if "on with freeze" is selected for both the pool and spa circuits on the step 2 page, then these circuits would activate every 15 minutes in freezing temps. So I wonder what would happen if one had also assigned a Freeze circuit, perhaps at a lower RPM if desired? Maybe pool/spa would still alternate, but at the lower "Freeze" RPM? Just guessing here.

You don't have a spa do you???
Anyway.. You can assign "freeze" to any circuit... My pump runs 24/7 so I don't have my pool circuit set for freeze.. but I have an Aux relay that is set to "On with freeze" and this relay turns on a heater inside my equipment shed.

Since I don't believe you have a spa, you could assign the Spa circuit as "On with Freeze" and an RPM of say 1000 RPM.. Anytime the freeze came on the system would switch to the Spa mode and run the pump at 1000 RPM... there would be no reason to set the Pool mode to freeze, as in your pool with no spa, you don't need to switch back and forth..

Keep in mind you cannot go to a lower speed if you are already running a faster speed.. You have to shut off the faster circuit before you can run at a lower speed.

Yes, I have a Pool/Spa combo. (Note I'm not the OP, but I thought this was an on topic question.)
Do you think if I assigned the Freeze Circuit, it would override the Pool/Spa RPMs when they turned "on with freeze"?

I don't believe they will... I suspect if the pool was running at 1000 RPM and you had freeze set to 1200, the speed would increase and if you had Pool and Spa set to freeze, they would cycle back and forth... But if the pool were running at 1200 and freeze was set to 1000, I don't believe that the pump will slow down.. but it should still cycle..

You can just use a glass and some ice cubes and test it out...
