Depends on the strength of the muriatic... typically we assume 31.45% but I just bought 2gal from Home Depot at 14.5%, which somebody else also reported but I got it because I was there anyway. I need to use ~twice as much but I've already noticed it hardly fumes at all. The full-strength stuff is unpleasant to whiff.
But, remembering to stay on-topic, ditto FPM don't overdo it all at once, don't let the pH go below 7.2 or so for long.
