I've been reading the instructions for the AA treatment and am getting all my ducks in a row. While I wait for supplies to arrive I thought I would get a better handle on rebalancing following the treatment. My biggest question is regarding rechlorination. Instructions say to slowly bring up chlorine. What exactly does this mean. Can I add a gallon of bleach every 2-3 hours? If stains start to reform, reduce pH and add more sequestrant? Or should I do it even more slowly, adding chlorine only once per day? I'll be using polyquat60 but still nervous about no chlorine for too long. Plus warm weather and swim season are rapidly approaching. So how slow is slow?

Your pH should already be low - probably around 7.0-7.2. From there, you can use the PoolMath APP to add a little chlorine at first, enough to increase the FC by 1 ppm. After the first addition, test again in about an hour as you watch the pool for potential changes. Don't be surprised if the FC is all gone the first time or two simply because of all the AA treatment and Poly 60 in the water. Your goal is to use just enough chlorine to see the FC increase by about 1 ppm. Spread it out about every hour or so and that should be plenty of time to evaluate the water and walls for color changes in case you have to add more sequestrant.
