Modify Pentair Easytouch Lite to full system

After getting so frustrated by the artificial limitations of the EasyTouch PSL4, I tried this at 11:30 tonight. At first I tried to de-solder the J23 jumper but eventually resorted to snipping it. I reset the controller outside and was at first mortified that it didn't work and I was seeing even less options than before. Then I realized I probably needed to power cycle the protocol adapter. To my relief and joy, the system is now acting like a PS4!!! Thank you to all who contributed.

Perhaps later on I will tackle the 4 to 8 upgrade with the resistor mod and additional relays.

Interesting the Protocol Adapter needs to be power cycled.

We've done this for a few clients who were out of warranty. We shut them off to snip the jumper and turned them back on. Bingo-bango. All set.

Strange you had to do more.

the protocol adapter takes up to 30 minutes to re-sync with the system - so if you don't power cycle the PA it'll eventually sort itself out.
