Mixing chlorine

I currently use a calcium hypochlorite 3in tabs in a auto feeder

Would it be ok to use tricolor tabs for like 2 days through the skimmer while the feeder is off completely? Will this cause any problems when i can get the calcium hypo back running?

We do not recommend using either of those products for daily maintenance of chlorine. And you should never add chemicals directly at the skimmer. Pucks in the skimmer create an acidic brew that can damage the internals of your pool equipment.

I suggest you read Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Trouble Free Pool School book.
