I’m about four or five days into a slam, having failed the overnight chlorine test and having combine chloramines of 1.0. The water has been crystal clear, but I just noticed today this patch of what I assume is algae on the stone underneath the overflow from my spa. I don’t run the overflow all the time, but twice a day to get the chlorinated water back into the spa and circulate.

This one spot definitely gets wet when the waterfall is running, especially as it shuts off. If I touched the spot with my fingers, whatever it is crumbles off in my hand so I imagine it. It’s also going into the water.

Any recommendations on how to remove it from the stone/kill it? Then I’ll have to figure out why it’s forming in the first place.

Odd areas like that tucked-away can collect stagnant water and may need a special treatment periodically. You might try spraying chlorine directly on that area (or a mixture 50/50 with water), let it sit for a couple minutes, then brush it off. That should do the trick.

Nice thank you. I’m prone to do full strength just to really kill it. I assume also catching oas much of the stuff and keeping it out of the water is a good plan too.

Im also guessing a regular (every other weekly? Hmmm) spray with the bleach might keep it at bay as well.
