microbrite failure

One of the microbrites started flickering and went off sync. The PB sent someone and they could not unscrew the light. I did not see them use the pentair tool- (p/n 620459)- he kept trying with pliers and screwdrivers. Told us to heat up the pool so he could really get to it- came back in 2 days and did the same thing. I took a closer look and found he had scratched the gunite in the area (can't really see it unless you look closely- but annoying nonetheless). Also, that is when I looked up the manual and realized there exists a tool to remove the light. any input? Sorry for image quality- best I could do with phone in a ziplock bag.

Buy the Pentair tool so you can give it to hack techs when you ask them to work on your Microbrites. You are expecting a lot from a pool tech to carry all the proper tools.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the lights come with the tools. Your PB likely has a box of them sitting in the corner. I'll bet every one of his guys know that box is there but have no idea what those things are for.

This is why I don't like people touching my stuff! IF I decide to be a hack and mess it up, that's on me. If someone else doesn't use the proper tools, they better be ready to pay to correct any damages from that.

One of my 4 Globrites is out of sync. I have been so busy at work I keep forgetting to call Pentair to discuss with them. My PB didn't leave me a tool for my lights either, so I hope I have no reason to take one out until I have to replace it.
