Have a client now for 4th season, always had regular chemistry like nothing out of the ordinary with a pentair salt system (ic40) which I just put in a new cell as the old had 6k hours plus and proved dead. Pool was opened May 1. The ph was in the 6.8 range so I added borax so not to move the TA. Ph now still just over the 7 mark , I'll add some more borax to get it up some. Water has a gold color like metals. There's no well here and nothing has been done to the water supply, thinking maybe the heater core (mastertemp 400 approx 2008 vintage) copper. Am I on the the right track here. I want to buy a metals testing kit that'll cover me for the regular and not guess, no time to take samples for metal testing. Please advise what I'm shopping for.TIA,Allan.

Taylor has the K-1716 - Iron Test Kit that sells for around $125.

Taylor Technologies also has the K-1264 Commercial (uses Midget comparators), Copper, 0.2-3.0 ppm/Iron, 0-2.0 ppm that sells for around $200.
