Metal removing - Culator

Anyone have any experience with this thing? Does it really remove metal from water? Asking for "a friend"....

But seriously, what is the chemistry behind this thing? Is there a way to drop the metal out without it depositing back onto the walls and floor of the pool?

Culator has long been discussed here. It has mixed results. Works for some and not for others.

Culator - Does it work?

I am trying to keep from getting iron staining, again. I used stain free followed by a sequestrant and 24 hours later backwashed. Most of the staining is gone. I ordered Culator and added the bag to my skimmer. Has anyone used Culator and did it work? Thanks!!

It’s a bag of ion exchange resin you stick in your skimmer. The notion that a small bag of ion exchange sitting in a skimmer will reduce metal concentrations in any detectable amount is laughable on its face. This is nothing more than a bag of magic beans. It’s a placebo that lets you think you’re doing something …. YMMV …
