I recently opened the pool for the summer. As I started the shocking process, I've noticed some light brown staining on the steps and the water is a greenish color and cloudy . I took a sample to Leslies and it showed .3 copper and .1 iron. I did some reading on past threads and see that I need to replace some water. My question is, do I address the stains now or will they go away once the metal is out of the water?

Initial water readings:
pH: 6.0
TA: 5
CYA: 16
FC: 0

Current readings: ( after adding soda and liquid chlorine)
pH: 7.2
TA: 50
CYA: 16
FC: 6

Treat the stains now then drain the water to get rid of it. Hopefully your new fill water won't have any iron. Copper comes from pool store products which is never a good thing. See the AA link below for more info. Good luck.
