Hi everyone
It seems I’ve been really silly and used the wrong type of silicone sealant to instal some vinyo tiles around the top of my pool and it is now dissolving into my water, seemingly being attacked by the chlorine, I will post more details of my setup in due course but short term I have a build up of slimey silicone in my skimmer and of course where it has failed on the tiles, I have the following questions if anyone can help please:
Andy.

- Is the silicone likely to have dissolved into the water enough to make it a hazard to health (filtered through a sand filter approx once per hour, on for 5 hours a day on timer)?
- I guess I need to use acetone to clean off the excess slime left behind on the walls, tiles and skimmer, is it likely to have deposited in the pipe work, pump, heater ect too and can they be cleaned/flushed without being replaced?
- so it doesn’t happen again I have been recommended to use “Sika 300ml SikaSil Transparent Premium Pool Silicone” does anyone have comments on quality etc?
Andy.
