I've seen a bunch of threads about running the power supply off an extension plug. I really wanted to move my robot to lead into the deep end instead of the shallow end since the kids are always on the shallow end. At first I was going to run a new outlet and build some type of box to house the power supply outside. However, that got me thinking, could I just extend the actual blue low voltage wire feeding the robot? The short answer is yes!
I purchased a male and female connector and put 100' low voltage landscape wire connected to each end and buried it around the house. One side plus right into the power supply and the other I hooked into a pvc cap. This is where I plug the robot in now and it works perfectly. The robot runs at 2.1 amps so 14 gauge was fine.
