Looking for help.

I am having a heater issue. Pentair mastertemp 250. I have to smack the heater on the left side to get it to turn on. It will run all night then reaches temp and shuts off. When it gets the call for heat again, it won’t turn on. But if ingoniver to it and bump it on the left side, it will fire right away every single time. Screen will be blank until I hit it, the. Red light comes on and screen comes and and it fires up. If I don’t hit it, it will sit all day with a call for heat but will
Never turn on. Heater is hooked up to an easy touch panel and ScreenLogic.

Since the heater top can be rotated we don’t know what things are on the left side you are hitting.

Remove the side panels and show us pics of the inside of your heater and what area needs to be smacked to get it running.

When it will not turn on does the blower start running?

By heater has a panel in the front, and one in the rear. I can only remove the front. There are not any wire's directly near where I am hitting it. When it gets a call for heat it does nothing. The red light does not run on, and the screen does not turn on. Pushing buttons does nothing. Bump or push it hard, the red light lights, the screen turns on, and it fires up like normal.

Could be a loose wire.

Have you opened up the heater and examined the wiring and connections?

The front and rear panels come off as well as the panel around the water manifold.

I have removed the front and don't see anything loose. I can not remove the back panel because it is too close to the wall. I believe this fireman switch is in the rear so I don't know how I can access it.

I would need to disconnect everything to be able to move it away from the wall to remove the rear panel.

Yup, the water lines are on unions.

The heater never should have been installed without sufficient maintenance access.
