Manifold repair on Jandy JXi

My Jandy JXi did survive the freeze. Looks like the manifold has cracked. Does anyone have any advice on repairing it? Is there a manual on breaking it down to replace the part? Or being 5 years old just replace the whole thing? I see there is a breakdown view with part numbers but no step by step procedure? Evidently, I need to find a lower point in the system to install a drain valve since the automatic freeze protection doesn’t work if the power goes out.

In my opinion this a medium difficulty DIY repair and well worth it if you've been maintaining your water balance pretty well even on a 5 year old heater. The part is about $200 unless there's a lot of internal damage. I would look to see if there's any evidence inside the heater to be sure there's no other impending failures. You can put a dowel inside the fire box through the igniter port and check for water which would indicate a tube leak. That's close to another $1000 part so repair then starts to get iffy. There are lots of videos for other repairs to the JXI that show a lot of the manifold repair.

I hope this helps.

In the same boat My PB called me and pretty much told me to not even try to fix. Question. Did you guys have there versaflow on yours? I had one installed at build which my PB doesnt normally do. I am hoping it helped saved the rest. Thoughts? Also, did you all find any better documentation on how all the parts are put together?

I am thinking the versaflow would make it worse. I am not sure exactly how that works but looking at it I think it always keeps some water in the heater core even while in bypass mode.

These heaters have a drain valve. The heater should be drained if possible in the winter.

I'm still waiting on the Jandy heater Manifold for our JXI400N. It's been about 4 months or so since my PB installed it but had a cracked manifold.

Anyone have any insight on when this part will be available?

Thanks
