I need to replace my aging Polaris 280 and was just looking at the Makhoon cleaner on Amazon. It seems to be similar (though there are some differences, like having four wheels instead of three) and it's half the price.

How do the two cleaners compare?

Not great reviews on Amazon.

One of the nice things about the Polaris 280/380 is parts are available and they are rebuildable. You can keep a Polaris running for quite a few years if you are handy repairing it.

Consider the Total Cost of Ownership over a 5 to 10 year period.

Its a clone of the Pentair Legend, not the Polaris. It has 4 wheels, only two of which drive the cleaner. In the pool industry you really do get what you pay for. If you were selling your house and needed and inexpensive cleaner to last until the sale, I would get that. If you want something that will last you for several years, get a name brand, Pentair, Polaris.
I love my 280, have had it for over 20 years. Yes it has had parts replaced, they do wear out. I have been using some part from ATIE on mine lately, to try them out. Quite impressed with the quality.
You might want to look into this kit for your 280:
