Make household bleach from pool chlorine?

I see a ton of articles about how to use household bleach as a replacement for pool chlorine. I can't find anything on the reverse!
I'm out of household laundry bleach and I have a ton of pool chlorine (liquid) and chlorine pucks (Trichloro-S-Triazinetrione) and bags of pool shock (Clorox Xtra Blue Shock - Sodium Dichloro-s-Triazinetrione with Copper metallic).

Is there any way I could use the above to make household bleach? Or is this a bad idea?

What strength is your liquid chlorine? Usually the liquid chlorine is just stronger so you add water to get it to the right strength.

I wouldn’t personally use picks or the powder but liquid chlorine can be used for laundry no problem. Just use far less depending on the strength. I would however avoid pouring it in full strength as odds of it splashing are greater and stains will quickly show.

I recently did this by mixing 50% tap water and 50% pool chlorine into the empty laundry bleach container. If your pool chlorine is 12.5%, then diluted 50% would make it 6.25% for laundry use which is on par with what the stores sell as "concentrated" these days. If you're starting with 10%, you would be making 5% for laundry use which is also fine. If you really care about the exact % of your laundry bleach it wouldn't be too hard to create a simple algebraic equation to determine your dilution ratio, but it didn't seem worth the fuss for me.

Per the instructions on my 8.25% Chlorox laundry bleach, it says to use 1/2 cup per cycle for a 16 gallon top-loader.

Using the Pool math Calculator, this means that for 16 gallons of water, 4 ounces of bleach will raise the FC to 170 (wow!).

The same lift in FC is achieved through:

0.4 ounces of trichlor
0.7 ounces of dichlor
0.8 ounces of 48% cal-hypo
0.7 ounces of 53% cal-hypo
0.6 ounces of 65% cal-hypo
0.5 ounces of 73% cal-hypo
1.0 ounces of lithium hypo
0.4 ounces of chlorine gas

Rather than tossing the powder in, I suppose you could dissolve it in 1/2 cup of water first.

If you need to convert to metric or some other type of socialist propaganda, you are on your own.

I use pool liquid chorine for laundry bleach since it is cheaper than bleach in the stores. just use about half what you normally would, depending on strength.

Household bleach is typically about 5%. Pool chlorine is 10-12% so just dilute appropriately. A good surface disinfectant is about 800 ppm (.08%) so just dilute a small amount of the household bleach again as appropriate.
