We had a major flash flood here in SE Pa. we basically had a creek running through our yard which overflowed into our pool. Now my pool is full of muddy water ( not happy). What is my best way to start this clean up? Do I turn off filter pump and let all the dirt settle then vacuum to waste? Picture is attached. Thanks

 It looks like your pool overflowed? You may need to vacuum to waste to get get the water down a bit. Then clear you pool of debris using pool tools such as a brush, vacuum, pool net , etc. If your pool is really dirty (which it looks like it is - correct me if I'm wrong), it is recommended that you vacuum to waste to avoid clogging up your filter. You may also want to get some readings to make sure you balance the chemistry of your pool again. You could also turn the pump off (like you said) to let it dirt settle and then vacuum and brush.

This is one of the VERY few cases where floc may be needed. Wait for the flood water to recede so there is not danger of more ground water entering the pool. Leave the pool water a little high as you will need as much water as you can get to help with the vacuum to waste. Follow the directions on the bottle closely.
