Hi all,
There was a thread about a month back about a cracked casing that houses the backup valve on the Polaris 280. It sounded like it was a fairly minor crack.
In my case, the crack encompasses the entire diameter of the case, except for about 1"
Water comes gushing out the cracked opening. This happened within the past day or so.
Prior to this, I felt the cleaner was operating correctly. We've only had this house and pool for about a month. The pool is about 3-4 years old but the Polaris cleaner was added sometime later, as near as I can figure. I don't know what problems, if any, the previous owners had with this unit.
My question is what do I replace...the casing alone or the entire "assembly"? And...what would cause this to happen? Anything I need to do to prevent this in the future?
