Hi folks. Just got back from Hawaii and was anxious to see the plumbing/electrical/gas job that was done the day we left for the airport.

I saw 3 plumbing lines for the deep end main drains and it peaked my curiosity as we only have 2 main drains.

I walked down carefully over the rebar and discovered the smaller PVC pipe was capped with a threaded cap and I dug out the rocks a bit and noticed holes were drilled into the PVC on all sides.

Does anyone know what this pipe might be for? I tried to dig deep down but could not get to the bottom. It was dark out so I may attempt to dig further. I did notice pipe glue on the treaded cap though.

Thanks!

Thanks!

We have Gunite Monday and I was going to ask PB about adding more spacers....not sure if they can make it happen by Monday morning but lucky for me Rebar crew left a lot in my yard they never cleaned up so I plan to add some more in the deep end where they didn't put many.

Hydrostatic valve, designed to relieve pressure from around the pool shell (Shotcrete) from ground water forces when the shell is empty.
Also I would ask the rebar crew to install more concrete dobie spacers below the cage.

Is there a good standard to follow as far as spacing goes? I will take some pics to send to builder tomorrow to see if they can add some more but if not I will use the 10 or so extra the rebar crew left and throw them under the rebar cage prior to Mondays Gunite pour.

Hydration of the Shotcrete is vitally important after application, the product needs to stay wet continuously for a minimum of 7 days.
This will also help insure a high PSI strength at the end of 28 days.
Do you know what PSI the Shotcrete is that’s going to be delivered?

if you are having an exposed aggregate plaster have the Shotcrete crew 45 all the edges and not leave them at a 90, this will ensure the plaster crew will be able to have enough product on the radius.
Geez, the tips we pick-up on this forum is amazing. We learn everyday. Great info. :goodjob:

By exposed aggregate plaster, would this be a product like pebblesheen? That is what we are getting.

Great pointer on the wire ties for rebar.

I just went out and a ton of the ties are sticking up/out.

I plan to hop in and fix every single tie before gunite tomorrow.
